Healthwatch Gateshead supports the Real Living Wage
Tell Us North, the host organisation for Healthwatch Gateshead and Healthwatch Newcastle, is now an accredited Real Living Wage employer. This means that all Healthwatch Gateshead staff are paid the Real Living Wage.
The Living Wage Foundation advocates for UK employers to pay their staff the Real Living Wage. This is calculated to be £12.60 per hour outside of London, and £13.85 in London.
The Real Living Wage is higher than the statutory minimum wage, which often falls short of the local cost of living. Some organisations voluntarily choose to recognise a higher minimum, helping to ensure that UK workers and their families can afford the essentials of life. Healthwatch Gateshead and Tell Us North are proud to join these organisations, and encourage other organisations to do the same.
